"Like the classical Greek theorists, Anne LeBaron hears music in the churning of the earth." The Washington Post
Set against the backdrop of a great American river during a torrential flood, this provocative new opera by Anne LeBaron and Terese Svoboda sketches out a world in which multinational corporations have cornered all supplies of water. Brimming with heartbreak as much as comedy, Wet features 10 vocalists who portray a cast of characters that includes, among others, pregnant teenage twins, a pair of lumberjacks and Death. LeBaron is a winner of the Alpert Award in the Arts, while Svoboda has been hailed for work such as the collection Trailer Girl and Other Stories.
